OK, I was on my way home last night (after midnight) coming down the motorway. There was hardly any traffic about except for a couple of cars up ahead both line astern in the o/s lane (3 lanes).

As I approached them, I wasn't going fast, but they seemed to be going slow ~60MPH, I was going to assume that they would move over, but they didn't, so gave a quick flash and the rear car moved over....

Then, what confronted me was a 4x4 that was travelling slowley, and meandering across lane 2 & 3.

I wasn't prepared to go anywhere near this guy so decided to drop right back (100yds) and keep a watching eye, as did the other car that pulled over to let me past.

As I followed, the 4x4 driver seemed to get worst and how he didn't hit the barrier on several occasions was beyond belief. I'm just glad that I eventually had to exit.

Whilst its too late now, my dilema was do I phone the BiB (999) and tell them of said driver knowing that I'd probably end up getting hit for driving whilst phoning (no hands free or passenger).

What would YOU have done?

I'd pull over, and then ring'em.

The thought had crossed my mind but didn't really want to loose visual contact with "bandit"

In which case he was still dangerous, even if (s)he wasn't drunk.

This happened to me. Desperately drunk guy driving in front of me. I followed while my wife called the BiB to tell them where we were and what was happening, if I'd been on my own I would have called myself, I think you're duty-bound. I waited until he was held at a junction and got out and tapped on his window. He wound it down and started to slur at me and I pulled the keys from the ignition and told him the bill were on their way, he looked at me trying to compute this and two Trafpol pulled up within seconds.

3 times over the limit and pre-cons for the same thing.

Good riddance.
