Hi everyone, am new to all this and some advice would be great.

Went flying past a camera van two days ago in my Accord Type R at somewhere between 80 and 100mph.I completely never saw the van and it was on a 60mph road.

Trouble is i currently have 9 points on my license from between 2 and 3 years ago, in fact 6 of the points expire(3 years) on the fifth of July (thats 5 days away!)

I really cant get a ban as i run 2 gunshops and really do need my car for everything.

Has anyone had something similar or can anyone shed any light on what might happen?

Other than that does anyone want to buy an Accord Type R?!!!

Kind of asking for trouble, don't you think? But at 9 points already I guess the subtle clues are passing you by.

9 points and you're driving like that!!! As much as I disagree with scamera vans, If I were in your shoes that close to being banned I would buy a Road Angel or Origin B2, garage door opener and generally slow down!

Youll be looking at 14 day wait. Was there anyone else in the car? Could they have been driving? Obviously it sounds like you were driving but maybe I misinterpreted you.

You might be lucky enough to get to keep your licence if it goes through court they might push you up to 11 points and hit you with a heavy fine.

Maybe you should wedge something behind your loud pedal so it can't be pushed down so far anymore, or better still get a fiat Punto or 406 diesel, that should stop you from driving too fast. wink

Good advice, but better still, drive within the NSL, and dont get zapped?

Cheers guys.

It sounds ironic but i dont drive anywhere near as fast as i used to when i was in my teens (im 26 now).I just wasnt thinking, you know how it is.

Dont Panic snooper type thing is on its way, i just hope that i will be down to 3 points by the time it comes through and they either slam me with a fine or invite me on a speed awareness course as the 6 points i got 3 years ago was a complete set up but thats another story.

Yes i was driving on my own at the time, can the scamera vans take pics from all over?

I never understand why people who like driving don't have a website like this, http://www.safetycamera.org/default2.aspx?CF=where in their bookmarks.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news mate but if that thing caught you. 8/10 you will be banned at that kind of speed. I know because i needed to keep my license for my job as i worked 40 mile away when a Direct debit bounced for my insurance and they cancelled my policy without notifying me. Took it to caught expecting a heavy fine. Genuinely pleaded my sincere apologies and BOOM. Sorry Mr prince, you are disqualified for 6 months. Bye bye Job. and car for that matter. These people can really screw your life up and justice is never doen right anymore (As i kno sum1 who got stopped on motorway wit no tax, m.o.t, insurance. Went to court got 3 pts £150 fine). All depends on the sad git in the wig and how many lives he feels like crushing in that day mate. The way i see it dont trust no eyes in the law mate cuz i certainly dont. Im still paying the consequences for that 3 years on.

Anything nasty in post - suggest a visit to pepipoo.com

If not - suggest you slow down a little till you have time (and experience)to scan all round you(and look for hazards) - if you miss van, perhaps it points to you going a shade tOO fast , and attention being foccussed elsewhere. Sorry,in truth - you missed the van - what else could it have been???
