Streets lined with obstacles
Discussion
It is well known that many indirect deaths have occurred because of speed cameras and the nonsensical approach they represent to road safety, but what about direct ones?
That daft installation on the A11/A14 interchange is back in action again now and the mayhem of people emerging from the junction into braking traffic, people trying to change lane on the approach to let people on, again into braking traffic has appeared again and will have already caused accidents and inevitably will cause deaths if it hasn't already done so.
There's also the possibility now of an accident either caused by the presence of a speed camera and the resultant mayhem or just a random accident resulting in a car/bike going physically into the supporting hardware of the camera itself where before it'd go harmlessly into a field or stopped by a hedge or something or maybe up the pavement and back onto the road.
Are there any figures to hand for the actual numbers of deaths/injury where people have smacked up on the pole itself?
