return of licence time limit
Discussion
as this is my first posting on this intresting and well informed site / form please be gentle with me .I had to surrender my driving licence to local police station on april 8th of this year due to driving offence 3 points and fine of £60.00 . Then recieved a speeding ticket one week afterwards fixed cam . YES I KNOW 6 POINTS IN ONE WEEK. from two seperate ofences . problem is first offence police station has still not procesed. still at police station in paperwork pile ????? and now got less than 21 days top send it in . question is do the police have a set time limit to proces such things or if it goes over time is offence canceled
When they took your Licence Plod would send it (or should have)to Magistrats Clerks Office of the Court area involved to have 3 points marked on it. The address should have been outlined on the Ticket. If you get no Plod joy try that office.
To stop a Court appearance or increased fine and to maintain the £60/3 points, 7 days before your limit is up on the second one if you have nothing back, write to the ticket issuer explaining the position.
