So the other half's parents are in Kent today, sorting out her dead granddad's stuff.

They found a couple of shotguns in his house, so thought they'd better get them dealt with (he had a license, but being dead, it kind of expired...).

So they are driving to cop shop, and they see a couple of plod with hairdryers.

Anyway, the outlaws ask BiB what they should do - BiB say that they are about to finish, and that they will sort out the guns if the outlaws will take them back to the cop shop!!

Obviously dropped off without their BFH as Jim Bowen would say - is this standard practise - drop a couple of plod off with a speed gun and make them make their own way back?

Please tell me that they saw the officers pointing the hairdryer at them and waved the shotguns back at them yelling something like "that's not a real gun..."

[crocodile dundee]You call that a gun? Now THIS is a gun!![/crocodile dundee]

Sadly not - they'd left the guns in situe <sp?> Seems weird to leave a couple of plod out on traffic duty without a car though...

Guns for show, knifes for a pro.[/dexter fletcher]

Strictly speaking wouldn't it would be illegal for your outlaws to take the guns to the cop shop unless they had a gun license themselves?
If they're driving them to the cop shop, how do they respond if they get stopped for a road side inspection smile

Maybe the cops where the local do-gooders in fancy dress.

I would have thought that the prudent thing to do would be to get a Registered Firearms Dealer to come and collect them. He could sell them on your behalf and let you have the proceeds. If you hand them over to the Police, with the current downer on guns they would probably try and talk you into having them destroyed.

Don't know what make they are, but even cheap shotties can be worth a few hundred quid.

Cheers 'chick - I'll mention this to the outlaws, if it isn't too late...

Mis-read the story smile thought the cops recommended taking the guns to the cop shop yourselves.
