Anyone out there proved the Gatso to be wrong and not been fined?
One bloke in S.Wales managed it.It was due to the fact that the lines were 5ft apart and the gatso had been calibrated for lines 2m apart.
Seems there is no "industry" standard so always worth checking with a tape measure.
When/if you get the photo of the offence, there is a calculator on the ABD website which will let you check it.
Depends on what you call beating the Gatso. In Dorset a local councillor ( also a BT engineer) was gatso'd and received a NIP for 53 mph in a 30mph limit in his works van. He requested the photos, which from the distance travelled showed he was in fact doing 13mph.
He received an apology from the Camera Partnership who claimed it was caused by the very rare phenomenum of "Reflection". They didn't of course explain why the secondary check of the photos wasn't carried out to the required standard.
