someone else's from the sound of it if he was also up for aggravated vehicle taking - what exactly is that? is it a PC way of saying knicked the car and wasn't very nice when doing so?

Slightly O/T, but Al Gore still holds the ticketted land speed record for a Prius, who was pulled over doing 105 mph coffee

Means it was probably a mate's or his dad's or something I think.

I love the name Kingston Bagpuize. I might chance mine to that.

It sounds like it. Considering the PC Milton case, I wonder if Dangerous Driving is also a charge?

Mmmm. I don't know the Guildford Bagpus (or whatever it's called), but 172mph on a public dual carriageway seems a little OTT to me.

I suspect he deserves a spell inside, rather than a medal.

Presumably it was a laser van trap, as IIRC JC blatted a Tuscan past a GATSO on TopGear at approx 147mph and the GATSO missed it.

That would be 174 rather than 147.

172 isnt that excessive, I know people who have been let off with a warning at 7mph more than that.

Really, you think locking someone up for doing something that for all we know might have been perfectly safe for the coditions is an appropriate response, what with violent criminals etc. being let out of jail early every day. Good work thumbup

Sounds as though he nicked a car and drove it at 172mph. Like most of the people here, I don't have a problem with people exceeding the speed limit when it's safe to do so - which it may well have been. However, I think that 172 is maybe a bit quick to get away with an argument about it being dry, straight, capable car etc etc.

I was let off by a copper for driving at 120mph in my TVR, but I'd say that was the exception rather than the rule.

Nice sarcastic use of a thumbs up and "Good work" too. Thanks for that.

It's ok, he just needs to explain he was only trying out his car - like that nice policeman was and he'll be let off.

......what? It doesn't work like that for 'us'?

So, 3 recent cases...

1) 20 counts of indecent assault on children - no pokey
2) Caught wanking on a beach facing a family with children -no pokey
3) exceeding the speed limit in a "dubiously borrowed" (ok, stolen) car - bend over sir, and back right this way.

(I'm just about to strat another thread on something related)
