I think he was silly given the previous. It not like insurance hike for the ban affect him financially either.

But again.. I think automation convictions lead to angst/anger/denial/fury whereas copped by cop who see what you did.. und can explain why he give lecture or decide not one other option left but to issue NIP verbally - I think this educate more than a "callous remote ping"

It not matter how guilty.. I think the manner of these pings create resentment und problems which will erupt in time.

Human beings =? scratchchin

We are social beings. We like inter-acting with fellow humans und even if that other human in person enforcing a law - then the social interaction diffuse the anger or embarrassment if done politely und pleasantly ..which ist what real lovely cop do wink

I know some "holier than thou" - but the majority of the cops out there are truest of professionals who want to weed out the pathetic power crazed jobsworthy minority anyway wink

Not banged up for driving fast, he was banged up for taking the piss out of the establishment which ranks about equal to murder in this country. Sorry it's probably above murder.

That folk prefer a pull by plod than some robot. rolleyes I am not at all sure the person convicted know why it was a danger. He may get jail or ban.. but does he really understand why his drive not acceptable ? scratchchin

I do not think so from the report. But I accept "journalese froth!"\ rolleyes

But this why scams fail.

In this case though.. he copped by police. He then silly as he should have done "homework" as to his route there.

But if automated. he never learn. He serve ban. Buy car he can afford but lacking expertise to drive. He then mega danger. rolleyes We do need professionally dedicated RPU und not scamerati after all

He's been banned twice, I think we can safely assume he knew the consequences of being caught & he was then dishonest in naming another.

There may have been no lecture to give Re danger at the speed he was doing. It may have been about the contempt he was displaying for the limit, but as I say we can safely assume he knew about that.

In some forces it's only trafpol operating the cameras.
The partnership pay their wages & that means that the force can employ another Police officer in their place.

As others have said it doesn't matter what the margin over the limit was, it wouldn't have led to imprisonment. PCOJ might though.

Indeed. Pervert the course of justice and get banged up.

However if you actually are a pervert and manage to convince the Judge you're a "reformed character" (hah..as if) then you'll be walking out of the court whilst your victims serve the sentence.

Interesting how they can convict us for Contempt, yet the so called Justice System shows its utter contempt for the public on a daily basis.

If you do around 100 over the limit in any stretch of road you can't complain if you get pulled, irrespective of the relative moralities. You're just flaunting the rules to such an extent it cannot be ignored.

And please don't compare swift drivers to paedophiles; that is just plain stupid.

This is the second case in the press in the last 10 weeks of custody being dished down to those who lie on speeding NIP forms. It's a very sad example of just how peverse justice really is in this country. The authorities know that thousands and thousands of people have been telling porkies on NIPs for years now.

If they want to close the loopholes in the law they need to enforce it properly, by using a mass camera system in the way they do to catch millions they just have to face facts.... the system is open to abuse and it WILL be abused.

Being a pro footballer never did anyone any favours when up in front of magistrates, the word example springs to mind....

Looking at this totally from a moral standpoint and not a legal one it is deeply wrong that this guy should go to prison for this. The immorality is in the speed enforcement / nip system not this guys actions. If we are all honest with ourselves then probably most of us have driven at over 100 at some stage, so it doesn't pay to be too judgemental.
