So i just went out in the VX to get petrol whilst it's quiet before i leave work, i go to the first shell and it's shut so i go across town to the other petrol station, out of Vpower, Arse. anyway off i go, to make it 100 yds at best and i get pulled over.
Police: Could you step out of the car sir
Me: *steps out*
Police: do you know why we've stopped you etc?
Me: Not really no
Police: It's because it's quite a rare car and you look very young to be driving one

why didn't i get a producer?
Because you checked out OK.And if your VX was ever nicked, wouldn`t you like the idea of plod stopping a youngster in it?
but if i was the copper i would of given me a producerpistonbroke PHd said:
the really weird thing is, your car has a diesel engine
and you're drunkI have been pulled a few times just because they want to ask you about your car. A good line to counter the "Do you know why we stopped you?" line is to thank them for what you presume is a routine stop as you appreciate that if someone had stolen your car you would be apprehending them. That way you make friends before they throw the book at you

What for? Did you show your licence or ID?Tax,MoT and insurance were probably checked while they were tailing you or by the second cop while the first had a chat.

Last time I was stoppped, I was in the Griff and I'd just hoofed it round a couple of roundabouts...
The first thing the (I have to say not terribly bad looking
) WPC said was: "There's nothing wrong with your driving sir!", and that I was her first Christmas random breath test...
I got to continue my quest to drive back to my hotel sideways.

Great news.
Providing you weren't in a hurry, it's heartening to know that policemen care and make an effort to reduce crime rather than just hiding behind speed cameras in vans reading magazines! The motorbike license thing seems weird! I guess he was just sussing you out, as he was suspicious that you were too young to be driving the VX, and having a restricted license would have kept his suspicion up to some extent.

Both times they were very good about it, and checked out the car while one bloke talked to me. When he got the thumbs up from his mate, he said thanks very much and on your way.

When I was 19 I used to look about 15 years old. I had a brand new company 3 series (Bimmers were quite flash back then) at the time and got stopped all the time. Best one was when I got an ear bashing for being young, driving a nice car, crashing, and putting up the coppers insurance premium.
Even though I was stopped driving quite sensibly, below the limit in a 30!
Didnt help that it was a company car and I got the whole "why do they give you a car like that?" (erm because Im good at my job and work hard??)
Cant blame them for stopping me, twas me and 3 mates in the car so we DID look like joyriders. No idea where the rant came from though!
Bless him.

They love BMW drivers - they pulled MOH over when he borrowed a mates car (had 4 doors - our Celica didn't) and the BiB pulled him over for 'driving too sensibly'!!
Apparently using the indicators and not getting the back end out around a mini roundabout constituted them pulling him. They followed him home as they wanted to see his license whereupon I got fed up with this and went to bed (was 12.30am) - leaving MOH and the cops outside and with no keys to get in *snigger* He was a tad embarrassed at having to ring his own doorbell.
