And as if the intimidating HMCE hard men, the idiot UK drivers, overbusy roads, rubbish road surfaces and dear petrol weren't enough, I found myself in a SPECS zone on the derestricted M25 near the A12.
Is this it now? Routine SPECS on our motorways out of roadworks (lol, I mean sections showing evidence of road works having been started at some point in the past)?
Also, how can we know that a national vehicle tracking database hasn't been snuck in? No reason why this ANPR data couldn't be routinely stored by means of "fighting terrorism"...

It already is for 2 yrs. ACPO pressing for 5 years. You will also find that private CCTV eg Shell, Tesco etc as well as other government CCTV (highway agency, council etc) CCTV is being retro fitted with ANPR and being linked to the same database. The aim is to track every vehicle movement in the UK.SM

National ANPR. Good.
I'm not sure that it is good, unless you're happy to be monitored and checked up on to an ever increasing degree. When it first appeared ANPR seemed a fair enough idea, but if it is now being used as a step along the way to virtually total surveillance I'm not at all happy with it.Best wishes all,
Dave.
