186mph on British roads

Police are investigating a DVD showing two people reaching record speeds on public roads

A Mitsubishi Evo 320 and a Suzuki GSX-R 1000 have filmed themselves reaching speeds of 186mph on the A423 near Banbury.

The footage has been released on a bootleg DVD called Stu-Pid Riding, and police are investigating it. Although police state the evidence is insufficient for prosecution, they believe they know who the rider and driver are.

The DVD features a speed camera being set alight- with the bikers watching as it burns, a 130 mph stand up wheelie, and plenty of near misses. The footage has been shot from cameras mounted on both the car and bike and show the speedo at all times.

The 80 minute film includes a section on the A423, in which the pair of drivers cover 12.3 miles in 5 minutes and 20 seconds, giving an average speed of 139mph.

From the blurred pictures we have seen, it doesn't even look like they could be bothered to blank out their number plates.

Madness, utter madness!!!!

The thought of one of these lunatics getting it wrong and meeting a family coming the other way.......doesn't bear thinking about! eek

Mind you, with their mentality - they'd probably think that was cool and video it for posterity.......rolleyes

I do hope the police are putting in as much effort trawling CCTV to find the deathmeister in a van who had me off my bike so I smashed my elbow all to hell a few weeks ago then drove off.

Probably the difference is he's actually caused an RTA and serious injury wheras these people were speeding, which is really dangerous.

Indeed. If it is, it's a long way from standard.

Which speed camera did they set alight? I bet it wasn't that despised Truvelo on the A43 near Silverstone...

I think the faster evos are rev limited in top gear so with a longer final drive ratio an FQ320 might be capable of those kinds of speeds? Doesn't look like the aero is good enough though.

i had a van pull out on me over 10 years ago

i went straight into the side and put two dents in the van - one my crash helmet, the other my front wheel

he span off and left me on the deck - hit and run !!

Blimey! Overtaking inside and blind bends. No need to prosecute as they are all probably all dead now!

I never thought I'd say this, but I really do hope the guy in the Evo stacks it into a telegratph poll / wall / bridge etc. I can't stand people who so clearly put the lives of innocent people in danger.
Oohh- well done, you made other road users 5hit themselves and almost ran them off the road- really, well done.
What a twunt.

Take their licenses off them for good is the best idea! Like Nelly1 said what if there was a family coming the other direction, shame an accident like that will be the only way they learn to slow down. Imagine the guilt of crashing into another vehicle with a young child in!

At the risk of saying completely the wrong thing - yes, I have just watched the YT video and they are acting like utter maniacs...but on that evidence, tha guy on the bike knows how to handle that machine. Wheelies at that speed and in that style, take skill.

I am in no way condoning their recklessness - just saying he appears to have developed the bike skill and should know a lot better.

Got to just pipe up here why are some bikers such to**ers they are often the fatalities on the road yet they have small rear plates, use excess speed, endanger other road users and really casue trouble for the whole motoring world.

Last saturday out for a meal with the misses in the RS4 and not hanging about on a dual carriage way which is closing to a single track road check the mirrors clear to pull in check again set of h/lamps miles back, go to pull in and at that moment a superbike blast past missing my car and the can on the inside by inches, of course he remembered the essence of advanced motoring, 'Never go for a closing gap', this one no back plate hwhat does he do next pop a wheelie and try to intimidate me down the road as he has been joined by his 18 mates weaving wheelieing all with no or small back plates being an ex copper I just let it go its what driving is about these days, being better than them.

Guess what next roundabout there is smoke everywhere and huge black lines down the road yes its burnout time for two of them in the middle of the road.

Still let it go until I enter the junction which was a large roundabout take the 1st exit the sun was very low and out of the haze in a dip I could just see two of three of the w*nkers broadside across the road doing a u turn, thank god for stability program and ABS I stopped but I could have killed them all.

One of them called me a foul name and I was out the window, I swear they endangered my life and that of my family, I was so mad I would have taken them all on.

And bikers wonder why they die????

Bikers are just people on motorbikes. You get good ones, bad ones, clever ones and stupid ones.
