Are motorway matrix limits binding?
Discussion
there is of course the chance of a driving without due care charge if you ignore them in circumstances where it would be appropriate to obey them.
(that said, 99% of the time, the matrix signs appear to display completely random information, such as "end" where there has been no prior restriction or "fog" on a clear sunny day or, most commonly a 50 limit on a clear, nearly empty motorway.)

dont ignore the lane divert or red cross...as I might be standing in the lane your aiming at.
Saying that the small wickets signs in central res...dont ignore them either.... there is usually a problem or a problem just cleared...again it may be me standing there.
Stop playing in the traffic, and they won't have to use the gantries... Saying that the small wickets signs in central res...dont ignore them either.... there is usually a problem or a problem just cleared...again it may be me standing there.

Of course if there's debris it'll be showing 20 instead of the "please slow down a bit there's something we don't quite get" 50.
Wheres Vaux?
Gosh. No one's ever asked for me on a forum before. I've gone over all giddy.....Wheres Vaux?

Your bog standard report of debris will get a 50. If the motorway's got VMS signs it'll mention debris.
