Morning Guys,
Was outside a club last night in Edinburgh. When a tipsy lady started to go for her car and drive. Then her pals say Liz you're not driving so for a laugh I say, Liz you're not driving. Turns around and asks me if I have a driving licence, which i show her, as my wallet was open at the time. She then says, fancy driving my Porsche 911 up the road for me..... I was like emmmmm let me thinking about it. Anyway to cut a long story short, i said no as i've had 2 pints and no insurance. Which she tells me, it doesnt matter about the insurance as anyone can drive it, aslong as I give them permission? Is this true? Please tell me it's not as ill be kicking myself! Im 19 btw.

yeah but the chances of that actually are true, are more than likely not true. So if I got stopped, what would I say, She said it was insured for any driver?
You should have asked to see her credentials
- or perhaps I should say insurance documents. Failing that, maybe your own insurance allows you to drive other cars not owned by you, not hired to you etc., so long as you have the owner's permission. Even then it would only cover third party claims, so you'd better not prang it.Best wishes all,
Dave.
Two pints would not always put you over the limit. There is no real guidelines on what will as it depends on so many factors. However it is safe to say it would make most people very close to the limit or over. However at 19 would your insurance allow you to drive other cars as i know i had to wait till i was 21 for this to be valid. To be honest you did the right thing by walking away as its not worth the risk of being pulled over for no insurance or over the limit.
