So there I am.....
Discussion
Driving a local NSL road a good distance behind a car doing 50, pass a panda car in an turning. I drive on approx 1/2 mile, turn around and go back past them, just under 60mph, back to my house 1 mile away. They follow me & pull me over 100yds from home. They tell me they thought I was going 'a bit quick'.
I explain that I made sure I was under 60 going back past them...
They say 'it looked a lot quicker'
So what grounds do they have to pull me & give me one of those @we've pulled you tickets
How can I get pulled for 'obviously' conforming to the law?
P.S. Yes yes I know they've bin given a task to go over there & fire a few rockets but they must be brave to pull someone who's driving like my mam.

Similar thing happened to me some years ago.
It turned out during the conversation - which started with "Do you know why I've stopped you?" and continued with "Do you know the speed limit back there [the Shepherd and Flock circulatory system on the A31 outside Farnham]?" - that the officer didn't know the speed limit around the circulatory system was NSL; and on that note of embarrassment let me continue on my way - Streaky

I wouldn't take some corners of that at NSL speeds though It turned out during the conversation - which started with "Do you know why I've stopped you?" and continued with "Do you know the speed limit back there [the Shepherd and Flock circulatory system on the A31 outside Farnham]?" - that the officer didn't know the speed limit around the circulatory system was NSL; and on that note of embarrassment let me continue on my way - Streaky

but wanted to see who you were and what you were up to. All in order & on your way.
and just why is that their business???You'd be surprised how much good stuff is turned up from mundance stop checks.
I'm amazed that you had to ask that question as I would have thought it was abundantly obvious.

Please note, I said many people, not all people, I do not necessarily include myself in the many people category, just explaining the way the world works.

If I am driving (or walking) down the road doing absolutely nothing illegal then it is no-ones business but mine what I am doing.
If there has been a crime in the area and I fit the general description then the BiB should explain this if they stop me. It is then upto me if I want to tell them anything.
To just stop either motorists or pedestrians for no reason and want to know who they are and what they are doing is just plain wrong.
