Yes it is possible, just maybe not during Le Mans weekend, but last week i got stopped on a nice straight out of town single carrageway by 2 of frances finest Le Plod with a laser gun reading of 122 km/h (90 limit) and got away with a nice conversation and a slapped wrist.

They were tucked up behind a hedge with 2 bikes and jumped out into the road waving their arms as I passed them, i had the option to go for it and knowing that the grotty bmw bikes they have top out just over a tonne would possibly have got away, but decided to slow down sensibly pull over, turn round and go back. They had very little english skills and my french is pretty poor, but between us we did ok, they got their point across told me I was up for a 90 euro fine and we got clear on the various speed limits in towns, out of town and motorways complete with rain and sunshine options, In all honesty i did actually know these but paid attention to my lesson and showed interest while being polite but cheerful, they made it clear they could take me to a town for the cashpoint but i played poverty about the current contents of my wallet, but all in all it was a pretty pleasant experience and not at all what i was expecting from a garlic muncher in jack boots wink we even laughed and smiled as i left having been told "goodbye".

Infact they were that nice about it i didn't even get chance to play my master card about how i was down there visiting my grandads grave who saved their arse from the hun wink

Same thing happened to me the other week -- I was guilty of looning about at a death dealing 115kph in a 90, lol.

He said "you drive slowly in your country, you should drive slowly in mine too".

Errrrr.
