If you have a caution do you have to declare it as a criminal record (i.e. to employers)? if yes is there a time limit to how long you have to declare it?

Depending on what job you are applying for and if it specifically asks.

For instance; working in the prison service/ Police etc, you would have to disclose that but if you're applying to be a grease monkey then I suspect not.

No as a caution isn't a criminal record its exactly what it say, basically a telling off. You'd only have to declare it if specifically asked
