I heard on the radio that there is now questions in the theory test which require you to know how much vehicle Co2 is emitted as a percentage of the UK whole!

Unbelievable!

Tis was on Radio2, they mentioned it briefly as an example of the new questions which have been added to the theory test.

Do they mean industrial or what we breathe out (about 400kg per person per year)? Do you have to know about the rate of emission from limestone areas, animal respiration, plant/animal decay, sea and fresh water solubility in winter or summer, the fact that climate change has nothing whatsoever to do with human activity? Uncle Adolph would have been proud of this level of state-generated bullshit, proud as Punch!

Absolutely essential knowledge for the novice driver. This will eliminate accidents and poor driving generally. Of course, only for those who actually take the test in person (or at all).

The big question remains, however: Which is more important for the immigrant to learn, vehicle CO2 emissions or how to collect both child benefit back home and income support in the UK?

At least when they crash they will be able to accurately state how much CO2 they were emitting at the time.. Sadly, they won't know when to give way to other traffic, but then, it appears nor do half the other road users these days.
