Just heard the BBC reporter advising that numerous accidents have been caused by, according to the Police, people driving too fast for the conditions (that'd be the thick fog)..
Does this mean we are getting somewhere?
No ....just that the Beeb forgot to doctor the quote to suit their own ends this time.Does this mean we are getting somewhere?
Anyways haven't Bib always said that? It's 'the others' who promote 'speed kills'

no it means these people didn't drive carefully

I noticed that on the M1 fog crash story, I saw the words "too fast" and I was expecting a twisted editorial on the evils of speeding, but they kept it pretty factual.
On the other hand, what if the police originally said, "driving too close and fast for the conditions" and it got edited down?
(I will take a sizeable bite out of my hat if too close and too fast are not the main cause. The 70mph bumper-to-bumper driving in the middle lane when there's no visibility or grip is beyond a joke.)
