This afternoon I followed an unmarked South Wales Police Volvo S60 along the M4. While all the other stuff seemed "normal" this car had a black box thing on the outside of the bootlid - approx the same size as a note checker thing at a store, but looked like it had a shiny strip facing the car following on it - as if it was an LCD display, but would have been too small for someone following to read. Was on the bootlid, at the front of it and to the drivers side. Saw all the other stuff in the window, camera, signbox thing etc too. Not one aerial though :O

Any ideas? (Not asking cos i'm sweating on it or anything, just nosey really)

It quite possible was a note counting machine. Never mind all that do you want to appeal stuff. Pull over, pay up, on you go. Road safety in action!

If it's the same kit as the new stuff we've just got it'll be a small infra-red box which helps the cameras in the back window read plates at night.

It's not great but it reads better than the old kit without it.
