Good policing, so time for some praise.
Discussion
I just heard that the bast**d who raped young boys and posted pictures of himself doing so on the net, has been caught in Thailand through an extensive Interpol chase.
Yes, we all - me, too - have had frustrations with the police and can and do critiscise them hard.....but we must also give praise when praise is due.
Well done on this one. Well bloody done!

Thirded. And the best news? If he is in Thailand, he won't be sitting in a nice comfy room with all the gadgets etc.. he wants, and three square meals a day.
Still, if only there was a way to kill him slowly and painfully (once fairly convicted of course), especially when he was, if I heard correctly, a school teacher?

Fantastic. really fantastic
But I may just add.
Succesful policing like this reqires feedback and contributions from the public.
In this case who in their right minds wouldn't offer up this scum . . noone I suspect.
But would I give information to the police on other matters ,
well I have often tried but I am always told that it is of no use to them.
I have given many helpful statements only to be told nothing will be done.
We need our police to make people feel valued when they give evidence rather than as if they are some kind of nuisance that has just inteferred with their coffe break.
Typical true scenario.
one FRIDAY night . .
I park outside a video shop. walk in and drop video off get back in car.
There are a group of youths outside the video shop
On returning home I find my ONE WEEK OLD car now has a big key scratch right accross the bonnet.
I go back to the video shop
Ask if they have any cctv . .no
Ask if they know about the group of youths who were outside the shop
Yes we don't know their names but they are well known to the police.
great so i ring the police.
Did you see them do it?
er no but it couldn't have been anyone else I walked into and out of the shop withis seconds.
But you didn't see them?
no
We can't do anything..
Can't you have a word with them perhaps tell them they are being watched warn them?
sorry sir..
Well thr following week there was a request for information in the local papers because on the SUNDAY evening two days after my car was scratched several cars in the town near the video shop were attacked and mirrors bent off and paintwork sctratched.
And to think if they had just gone and questioned and warned the suspects in that my case then the Sunday vandalism may never have happened.
But then this is an era of DETECTING crimes.
In other words if CRIME PREVENTION was carried out by the police then allthough crimes would fall the police would MISS TARGETS.
So it seems the police now ALLOW crime and the more the merrier as the more crime is commited the better the chance of hitting the DETECTED CRIMES QUOTA.

I agree with the sentiments, but with some reservations.
That is that at this point the guy hasnt even faced trial. He is basically being paraded in front of the world's media as a publicity stunt for the Thai police who of course have as many police chiefs as possible in the photos with him...
His chance of a fair trial now is realistically zero.
I have not seen the evidence and no idea whether he is guilty or not, and if he indeed is, then he deserves all that he will no doubt get.
It is also interesting that the only reason he was caught was due to the photography/tracking procedures Thailand have now employed. Maybe this is the way forward despite those who dislike Big Brother type systems in place.
