We saw a trafpol car parked up just off the road this morning, in a 30 limit. As we went past I saw what looked like a yellow laptop-sized item of equipment perched on the bonnet, and the trafpol was paying more attention to it than the actual traffic.

Does anyone know what this is and what he might have been using it for ? I didnt see any other kit, such as cameras on tripods, although as he and his car were pretty well hidden there may have been something tucked out of sight somewhere that I didnt see.

It could have been a mobile ANPR terminal with all the info on the laptop. This is what they used to be like before they actually introduced it like they are in todays modern traffic cars.

Cops in York had a system that worked on a laptop and connected into the rubber strips in the road to do you for speeding, I saw them trialling and setting it up and then it was never used again.

Good to see someone who uses Old High German wink - Streaky

IIRC, "chuning" translates as 'king', (based upon memory of the poem Hildebrandslied which my son read for a project some years ago) - S
