So Hampshire is being made safer by a man who couldn't run 300yds without collapsing and a woman who is 5'3" inches tall?

Just asking?

I thought the point of this thread is that size isn't important. wink

Seriously take me back to the days of 6ft coppers I was scared of.

and if they scared other people too then maybe that kept crime down.

I've emailed a mate in Hants police to see whether the offender is known to them, but it's probably an actor rather than a serving BiB (I hope so for his sake).

Looking over my shoulder, Monica remarked that it reminded her of Bill ... you know, that little kink in it smile .

And I think therein lies the problem. Scrotes damn well know it. I want a return to the days where some 10 year old who was mouthy to plod got a crack round the ear, and then another one when he got taken back to his mum......

So you want an authority to dish out serious assaults at will. Not to mention the disparity of size in a fully grown man and a ten year old boy. You want to strike the most sensitive part of the body. You want punishments to administered without trial contrary to our Human Rights. You think an officer is a fair and independent tribunal. You want to skimp on the CPS and take offenders to their parents. Libel against them a non existant crime. Hope that the authoritys power and status will make them a more credible witness than their own child in the hope of further punishment. Inhuman and degrading treatment is being eradicated in this day and age. people have rights!

And here we see just what is going wrong with todays society, and why young criminals are free to do as they choose without fear of retribution or punishment.

Were talking about the European Convention on Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms. Read those words until they fully sink in.

In my humble experience whenever i recite or explain one of these rights - i am a law student before anyone thinks im a militant - i often find agreement. I always find agreement. Of course! they reply, everyone is entitled to that!

the puzzling thing...do they understand what such should and does mean. The ECHR 1998(please excuse the legal shortening) guarantees our, well most of our fundamental freedoms that we as human beings would forward that dogs should enjoy. Shouldnt they?

Whenever it crops up, whenever it is not themselves in the limelight. "who cares about these stupid rights" ..."their criminals anyway"...hang them! (justice is not done) why? because you would take away the rights of a person. Do you not belive in a fair trial? Do you not belive in the prohibition of torture? Do you like the idea of pain being inflicted upon people? Does it make you smile?

i would consider an answer to the previous questions to bring great interest

What deeply disturbs me is that a person could think it is ok to use their physical size and strength to batter, humiliate, beat another human being. What fairness is in that? another key question. But children - a blow to the head, its wrong! and the sad thing is you dont know its wrong.

Continue telling us about todays society, the terrible freedoms.

why young criminals are free to do as they choose without fear of retribution or punishment.

perhaps tell us why old criminals are free to do as they choose without fear of retribution or punishment.

Yes I believe we should be subject to a fair trial, and I also believe the punishment should fit the crime, but outside of your utopia it simply doesn't happen. No trial is totaly fair or unbiased, everyone has their own biases, judge and jury. And unfortunately, due to wishy washy liberal thinking, the punishments almost never fit the crime.

In your perfect world, how do you deal with young offenders? Take them on a holiday at the taxpayers expense because they are a victim of an uncaring society? They are often too young to go to court, and the police have very little power other than to get social services involved, who are a waste of space.

Depends entirely on the recipient. e.g. the violent schizophrenic that attacked a 94 year old man without provocation, with video evidence. He could rot in the stocks for the rest of his life as far as I'm concerned, and it deeply concerns me when people care more about the "rights" of this scum over that of the 94 year old who lost an eye.

At school I can remember a teacher pulling me and others up from my desk by the hair in front of my ear for talking in his lesson. Quite a painful experience which certainly persuaded me that further misbehaving was a bad idea. Looking back he was probably one of the best teachers I ever had. Perhaps I should have taken him to court for instilling some discipline into his pupils, after all this kind of thing has no place in today's lentil consuming society does it? We really must work hard to abolish any remaining vestiges of personal responsibility if we are to see the total collapse of a useful society in the near future.

Ha a LAW student...

what the freak has that got to do with you having a worthwhile opinion.

You just like laws because they will pay your wage and have absolutely nothing to do with wether they are correct in principal or not.

You would have to be terminally thick not to realise that the human rights laws have been slanted against the very people they were designed to protect.

and the bare hypocrisy its you the LAWYERS that did it..

lol.. get off your high horse and go skulk in the shadows matey..

and when you pass your exams and your first case is defending some scroat who will be as guilty as sin but its your job to bend the truth or look for loopholes just remeber.

A lawyer will say anything he is paid to say.

You obviously think the human rights act is a great piece of legislation.
Thats because you are naive.

That ten year old who currently doesn't get the slipper or cane at school or a 'cuff round the ear' from the local bobby will grow up into a teenager who will stamp up and down with all his bodyweight on someone elses skull as they lay helpless in the gutter.
At that same time not far in the future you will be preparing a case for a peodophile who's rights are being abused because he can't get child porn on the internet in his cell.

I thought this was a thread about a pic of a copper with an exhaust for a pecker!

High horsemanship to the extreme here, get off this motoring forum and go and preach to those who wish to listen! I would imagine that you've been waiting for a post like this for some time to spout off!

I was never clipped around the ear but I know others who were back in the day and they are certainly more productive members of society than the 'chavs' who are infecting our social and economic society at present with their cotton wool protected world and free reign to behave as they like without fear of retribution.
