Has anyone had experience with enforcing a CCJ with a reputable High Court Enforcement Officer (HCEO) and could offer recommendations for a firm to assist with the collection of an outstanding debt from a Limited company?

There are a number of companies across the UK such as HCE Group, The Sheriffs Office (owned by HCE Group), DCBL, Nightfox Investigations, etc. However, reviews for many are a mixed bag and predominantly left by defendants who are on the other end of having a debt collected from them.

We used DCBL to recover a CCJ debt from a garage who messed up a gearbox repair that resulted in further cost elsewhere.

The garage ignored written correspondence from them but paid up when they attended site, so a recommendation from me.

I used DCBL to recover a CCJ debt from a race engine tuner who messed up a cylinder head that resulted in a big bang.

The garage may have ignored written correspondence from them I don't know but certainly paid up when they attended site, so a recommendation from me.

I don't want to hijack but my mum has won a CCJ against a dealer and he's now missed the deadline. Can she contact DCBL to start proceedings now? Or does she have to use CC bailiffs first?

Check the HCEO website as it will layout the steps you need to take, but I would go straight for HCEO as they have more power I believe.

Don't bother at all with CC bailiffs it is just a waste of time - DCBL will handle the HC escalation at the first available court and then get the claim sorted

The expectation is that the next step is a CC bailiff and they can start dicking them about but when they find it is HC backed they get a proper wake up

Once you have a CCJ you can escalate it straight to High Court.

The company I used 15+ years ago was run by a PHer and was excellent; however they're no longer trading so unfortunately I can't make a recommendation.

They also have a lot more power. Just watch the TV programmes such as 'Can't Pay We'll Take it Away' etc.

Presumably HCEO's working for the likes of DCBL are also salaried?

+1 for DCBL, got a CC against a former supplier and escalated it. DCBL turned up, money was paid out almost immediately

Whether they are or not, that's what you need.

The EOs are salaried, but their firm's remuneration is performance-related.
