Near cotgrave on Sunday - saw them late knew I would be getting something through the post
Sunny day, empty dual carriageway. Not a cash making exercise at all
It's quite deflating.

I'm expecting something in the post any moment now. I'd just spent an hour on the M6, dealing with poor driving from folk who have no lane discipline and just turn zombie doing 70mph in "the fast lane minus one". I came off the M6 onto a dual carriageway, perfectly straight, engaged the throttle a little bit too much then spotted the van. <sigh>

I wouldn't class Grimsby as being 'somewhere near Newark'
I am guessing that bit of the A46 was removed by the T' North filter.

"The A46 was first classified in 1922 and ran from Bath to Grimsby".

How does that affect things?Whereas 79 in the pouring rain weaving in and out of traffic would be far less safe.
Of course, speeding is always illegal, even if not always unsafe.
Hopefully you're just being argumentative, and there is nothing genuinely in the above you couldn't have worked out yourself.
To the op, I was also caught at 79, it is just one of those things and when I balance it agaisnt all the speeding i have got away with, I can't really complain.
The speed awareness course was an eye opener both in the mistakes the course leader made, and how poor road knowledge is across a sample of speeding drivers.

ds. that is all. also impressed my old disco does 79.
I’ve had over a ton quite a few times in this and have regularly sat for a while at 80+ in it.

So for most normal people, it would be obvious that in ideal conditions like this, a bit more speed can still be carried safely by a confident driver.

I wasn’t going to rise to him! Never done a course will see if I’m given the optionWhereas 79 in the pouring rain weaving in and out of traffic would be far less safe.
