Apologies for the Facebook link but this is doing the rounds on Facebook.

https://www.facebook.com/share/v/15mqqfXBW8/

Shows plod in an undercover car, at a set of green lights with two officers inside, apparently asleep at the wheel.

I can't make my mind up if this is legit or staged. Start of the video shows the foot is clearly on the brake pedal. Can't imagine falling asleep with your foot on the brakes?

Legit or not? If legit, I think someone is in trouble!

I can see that being real. Sat at traffic lights in an auto.

I know where this is. I’ll try and add a maps link but basically it’s the exit from KFC. Only that and a cash and carry on that road so it is a very quiet spot at night.
Not beyond the realms that it could have happened in that location.

Hopefully this works. The other businesses on the road close at night.

It's a Skoda - on VW Group cars (and probably others too) the brake lights stay on with autohold.

For all we know that officer could have passed out or be dead and his first thought is to film it for the views?

Scum. And then someone follows his lead and posts it on PH.

Did you not consider checking there wasn't a medical episode going on....Co fumes etc.

They may have been on.duty many hours and taking a well earned break.which they're entitled to.

If you're that bothered lodge a complaint.

I think.you should have been more spirited and done a welfare check.

Apologies if it wasn't you doing the filming. And social media bit.

Those comments are directed at the half wit who did.

We’re aware of a video on social media involving two police officers inside a car in the early hours in Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent.
Our Professional Standards Department (PSD) is aware of the incident and they are conducting a full review of the circumstances.

Months under investigation resulting in misconduct, rather than looking into WHY they had both fallen asleep whilst on duty.

It doesn't look they've hidden away to sleep.

Was my first thought too, seems an unlikely place to decide to just rest for a few minutes, my first thought was there may be more to it but then it seems many peoples first thought now is to whip out the phone and film it for views

If he was pestering me I'd probably deploy the 'lets pretend to be asleep' tactic too.

Loskie if you quoted what was actually said you’d probably get a more reasonable response.

Staffs Police are stretched to almost breaking at the moment. Lots of antisocial behaviour from teens in various pockets of the city, and in the area this was filmed. My friends husband is on the force and that, combined with car thefts and theft is stretching them very thin indeed.
