Ok wasnt sure but thought it was too much of a coincidence as seen a black Audi A6 estate could have been be S6/RS6? a number of times this year pretty much travelling at 60mph, driving sensibly. Yep thats strange for an Audi driver already ! on the A27/A23 Worthing/Brighton/Gatwick roads ie Sussex area but seen it again Friday this time with blues on zonking past on the A23 towards Brighton.

Anyone else seen this, know any details?

Details are as follows.

It's a Black Audi Unmarked police car
They use them to blend in and catch people on their phones.
The blue lights are to let you know it's a police car.

This was my thinking also, took me a while to reach this conclusion though. Like around 2 secs,

i was surprised to see Sussex/Hants Police using Audi's I suppose i was saying more then "an" unmarked car. Did look to be a S6 or RS6 though.

Both Sussex/Surrey and Hampshire have got new Audi A6 unmarked cars, Sussex/Surrey is on a 74 plate, I think the Hampshire one is as well but not seen it yet

They use all sorts of stuff. Got overtaken by a Ford Transit Custom Light Grey Van with Blues on last week near London.

Ok, they're A4s but you might as well keep an eye out for these too.

Hampshire have a grey 25 reg A6 TDi Avant that is definitely an unmarked traffic car. Have noticed it a lot lately, not so much the Octavia VRS, Focus ST or BMW Tourings so I assume they get moved around the county.

The Black Audi was in Worthing last night, I drove past it after they had pulled someone over.

Sussex Police have access to the unmarked White Scania truck as well, for looking in to truck cabs and cars to catch people on phones etc.

They posted one of their pulls on the A23 on Facebook recently.

Tractor unit without a trailer, suspicious...

When my Saab 93 was stolen in the early hours, near Arundel, the 2nd Police car on scene was an unmarked black Audi estate with 2 burly bobbies inside.
Whispered up, unannounced making me jump so I presumed electric/ hybrid?

Never did trace my Saab..

Perhaps they caught up with the Saab then decided to... Let it go.

Unmarked police cars I ve seen, include Fords, Vauxhalls, Peugeots, Audi s, Toyota s, Hyundai s, Kia s, BMW s, Volvo s and Skoda s

I used to live near a police station and have seen all these cars roll out with their hidden blues and twos on, or go into the police station with every seat occupied by someone in body armor.

Not sure what you were expecting? Like every unmarked car to be a white unadorned Vauxhall?

So the PH bug that highlights the grocer's apostrophes entered on mobile phones is a rather useful feature.

Drive sensibly, do not use your phone while driving, keep to limits respect other road users you have nothing to worry about! They use a large array of cars & small vans or SUV's nowadays many unmarked in all different bright colours some not obvious at all to catch people out!

There's definitely been a move towards more VAG stuff in Sussex lately - used to be the odd S3/RS3 saloon/Golf R unmarked, with the bulk being BMW for marked and unmarked (and if memory serves a good dose of Volvo?). Noticed a number of marked A6 Avants lately.

I guess the options are proving ever slimmer for police forces to choose from without going full EV?
