New Camera Torched
Protestors set fire to camera within two days of replacement
Discussion
Frankly I find it hard to condone vandalism in any form but....
If cameras keep getting made inoperable through "Direct Action" protest..eventually someone in Government might cotton on to the idea that fighting a battle with your own people is a bit of a stupid idea.
You've got to win hearts and minds. Just trying to beat the population into submission will lead to revolt.
It would help people accept these infernal things if at least they were placed outside schools and play areas where *most* sane citizens agree they could have a purpose.
Sticking them in the middle of the countryside on a straight road is never going to encourage anyone to believe that they're there for any other reason than to generate revenue.
This particular camera could, of course, be at a genuine accident blackspot. There are obviously some people out there who do not agree....

Insp Colin Williamson, of Hunstanton Police, said: "There are a lot of collisions on that road, so the camera is there in an effort to slow people down."
It is working, sort of...
...Somebody slowed down enough to set light to it.
So was the dummy one dammaged too, or are the differences clear enough that it was left alone?
If it is so easy to tell them apart, why do the police waste our money on dummy ones at all?

Vive la Revolution and when do we start killing the cops? I'm all for eating babies too - I've given birth to two of them.
Then Mondeoman said:
"Treat us like grown-ups FFS!"
Why?
Ummm could be because we are???
Typical numpty - can't come up with a reasoned, logical debate but instead resorts to emotional rhetoric. Very clever.
Eat babies?? No thanks - we need babies so that they can grow into the Pistonheads of the future ....

a numpty is someone who posts an inflammatory thread purely for the intention of winding people up
Numpty is a Scots dialect word that has recently become mainstream English. Basically means dimwit.
Although I like PetrolTed's definition better:
"numpty (nump'ti) noun, [From Old Saxon, numptìn, a horseless cart]. A middle aged driver of a non-descrpt (yet surprisiginly frugal) Japanese hatchback that drives at a constant 39mph in all conditions and situations. Pl.: numpties. Often quoted by readers of PistonHeads e.g.: "If that numpty doesn't get out of the way, I shall large it up the inside" See also: Soap, Large"
