IIRC all the prove required that a notice was served was that it was posted. Im sure thats been mentioned on here before several times.
So why the hell did they decide to drop it!
Or am I too cynical in thinking that there may be another reason here?
Don't know why the charge was dropped, but I did note that he had instructed Nick Freeman.
He was the solicitor who put forward Alex Ferguson's unlikely "I needed a dump, so I used the hard shoulder to overtake loads of cars" mitigation.
Much to everyone's surprise, this persuaded the court not to endorse his licence.
This resulted in solicitors up and down the land having to fend off punters saying things like:
"I jumped the lights because I needed a dump"
"I was doing 100mph because I needed a dump"
"I failed to get my car MOT'd because I needed a dump"
"I wasn't wearing a seat belt because I needed a dump"
"I stole the car, drove dangerously, had no insurance, was pissed and stoned and ran over a pedestrian, but it's OK, because I needed a dump".

But Ferguson had a "medical condition"
so was justifiably using his own vehicle as an ambulance. Message Board | Speed, Plod & the Law | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
