BBC News - Speed Cam Bomber Reward
Discussion
Now they are offering a £2000 reward to anyone giving information leading to the arrest of the guy who blew up the camera on the A605.
It was stated that "The A605 camera was immediately replaced to ensure safety on this road."
Does this mean that they are admitting that BEFORE this camera was installed, their road was inherintly unsafe? So this would be bad road design then. That road was around years before a police cashpoint was monitoring it!!!
It should have been "The A605 camera was immediately replaced to continued cashflow from this road."

Predictable ploy from the cops.
However, i fear their "master plan" will be in vain.
If the gatso bomber has done it right, no one else will know about his actions.
Too bad cops, like a house with no lavatory, youll have nothing to go on.
So typical of them that they think they can "buy" information, when in actual fact, if they were even slightly fairer, theyd get it for free.
Good luck gatso bomber, youve done this country a great service.

i.e is it behind a sign, outside a school, on an empty road etc etc...?
It's on a nice piece of NSL A-road out in the sticks as can be seen from the photo here: www.northantsnew.co.uk/ref/news_chron.asp?ID=16497
A pure revenue raiser - nowhere near a built up area.

I can see why it was bombed now! And they wonder why us motorists are getting so pi#!ed off....

Do we have a guilty concience here??!!!!

Quite so.
Still, at least Bliar's going down the tubes at the mo, hopefully on a terminal basis; a poll referred to by the GBC, earlier today, apparently showing Labour only a point ahead of Foo Chow Mein's mee-too Tory boys.
Not the best news in the world for errant speedsters countrywide, admittedly but at least this was the party that allowed Alan Clark a taste of power within living memory - so there is a smidgen of hope...
Frankly, abolition of speed detection in all but blatantly urban areas would be a sure fire vote winner; just need someone with the cahoonies to stick two digits up at the Islingtonites in the media.
" The A605 is considered among the most dangerous road in the county, with 20 people killed or seriously injured in just less than three years from January 1999.
The introduction of cameras in Northamptonshire has prompted concern among many motorists. "
just less than three years? so that would be latest figures available to date then? what about the figures before and after installation?
i just have to wander how many of those were involved in shunts at the site of the camera.
not wishing to make light of this, but ask the relatives of those 20 if the camera has made a difference.

Didn't post in the original thread but are we sure that it was 'explosives' that did this
, an explosive mixture of petrol vapour/air maybe
.
Is this not just another case of labour spin trying to sensationalise this incident, ergo all people that tamper with Gatso's are now demonised as terrorists
, whatdaya think peeps
Harry
IMHO obviously
