Seems a bloke has fought the law and won in a case where he was done for riding/driving a BMW C1 without a helmet.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/2815685.stm

He won on the basis that he was 'inside' the bike, not 'on' it?

Now all we need is for BMW to put a decent engine and wheels on it...Or Honda to produce a CBR1100xx with a roof

They are quite good fun the C1's are. Totally unreliable though. Everything breaks really from the stand to the engine to the windscreen wiper.

BMW have announced they are not going to build a new model.

Shame really, what I used to like was the reaction of other bikers when you ride it wearing a smart suit. They assume you are a tosser just out of his three series and cut you up or try to. I used to be a courier and could make the thing handle well.

If you tried you could swerve across the road and the roof would swing violently across and scare the shit out of any bike or car that came close.

The thing is, I would want to wear a helmet with a very dark visor on it if riding "in" one of those, as they make you look like a total twat who cant quite decide between buying a bike or a car

The only problem is that BMW has binned the C1. It wont be replaced at the end of its lifespan by another model.

Or at least thats the current policy from the boys in bavaria.
