Another GATSO answer needed?
Discussion
If you get caught twice by two different GATSO cameras on the same piece of road 5 miles apart within 7 minutes do they both count? I probably know the answer but has it happened to YOU?
Another thought.. If you were to drive through the variable speed limit zone on the M25 and get caught speeding by 12 different cameras, could you loose your licence 3 times (3points x 12)

Of course, each is a seperate 'offence'. I had a friend drive through 2 cameras next to each other and got 3 points for each camera.
Unfortunately in this scenario, points don't make prizes.

As other people has said, each one is treated as a separate offence. It's entirely possible to go from a clean license to a ban in less than 500 yards on many roads
5 miles in 7 minutes is an average of 43mph. Presumably these offences took place in a 30mph limit?
If it's on the same piece of road, then surely it counts as one offence. (But I can guess what would really happen.)
If this counts as multiple offences, then the revenue generators could place 5 cameras in a line, each one a yard from the next. In the distance of about 7 yards you would get a ban!
Therefore, if that's not logical or possible, then how could a second camera a few miles down the same road count as a second offence? You're on the same drive / the same journey...one offence surely?

They are regarded as seperate offences even if it is on the same strech of road.
I remember reading in a local paper about a girl who had just passed her test and decided to go for a quick drive to celibrate. She went from Harlow to Ware on the A414, round the roundabout at the end, and then back again (nice dual carrigeway, but with a 50 zone by the junction to Much Hadham covered by four speed cameras - two in either direction).
She managed to set off all four speed cameras and not only lost her licence but was ordered to re-sit her test.
