Goodwood fatality

Very sad indeed.
Lets hope some good comes out of it and the MSA rethink safety scrutineering in sprints, hillclims and various "open" race series.

Agreed. See my (non imflamatory) post below. The sprint safety standards seem to be a long way below races involving more than one lap. They need to be bought in line. As for sprinting being "informal", it poses as much risk as other forms of racing, other than car to car contact. Lets hope some good comes out of it and the MSA rethink safety scrutineering in sprints, hillclims and various "open" race series.

The internet is your friend. You don't have to live local to read local papers any more.

Is it really so much worse than someone asking "Does anyone know what happened so I know not to make the same mistake?" ?
Yes it is, because questions like that stimulate innovation in safety. As others have said, too early to speculate but if it turns out that there is one small clause which could be added to Motorsport regulations which would prevent a similarly tragic result to an accident, would that not have been a reasonable and worthwhile line of enquiry? One eyed mick's post shows that either he is disrespectful or that he does not understand competitive driving.
Indeed. Not the first fatality during an event at Goodwood.
A previous one went to court and the claimant includes pretty much everyone including the FIA in their claim.
Of course one wonders about the conditions, run off, provision of HANS etc. But all speculation is pointless pre inquest.
Saying "don't crash" is just being an arse.
