LSD...has anyone tried these

am finally planning to change my ital marina axle for english axle with LSD.
Found these on e-bay:

To be honest pay a bit more and you get a tried an tested unit, like one from Elite or even the ATB from Quaiffe/

I suppose its a bit unfair to maybe not go for one of those based on cost as it might do the trick. But from a technical point of view proven engineering is a better bet, lets face it if its hundred quid or so more to get an ATB, which are definitely up there for just road use (lifetime guarantee as well). All it takes it for the non proven one to fail and even if you get your money back which i probably unlikely as they could say it wasn't fitted properly you've got the extra hassle of removing it again and lashing out for the one you really wanted in the first place.

Thats cheap, depends what you want to use it for, and the type of car it's fitted in.
If it's in a 7 & just road use I reckon it's worth a punt. If its used in some lardy rally type saloon I'd pass and buy the real thing.
If I'd seen these B4 I bought my Quaife ATB Id've bought one for my 7.
These are probably of Chinese origin some chinese stuff is great - some is crap so let us know how you get on.

Glad you have good experience Mick - I had a bit of strange coms with them when I was looking for one of their 68G 6 speed non-sequential synchro boxes...

Well actually they only sent me a diff !
What I bought was a complete diff with brand new case, but they omitted to send me the case.
So a quick call, and the Guy said "Have you opened the box to make sure?"
To which I replied, "Well, there's no need, as this box is about 6 inches cube, and there's no way there's a Sierra diff casing in that!"
"Ah, I see, we'll arange to get it collected."
Two days later, shiney new complete diff assembly. Cheaper than an open diff from Caterham. Can't complain about that

No one's perect, and if they fix the odd hicup like that, no fuss, then that's as good as it gets IMO. And as has been said, lifetime guarantee.

Nice one - the coms I had actually put me off somewhat... Not that they were that bad just pretty poor sales service making me work to get info...
I'm considering sticking with the T9 and getting a BGH & SPC CR rebuild - problem is logistics for sending the darned thing there & back again...sometimes it's simpler to just buy something completely new ;-)

And back to the thread....
