Put a deposit down on this factory built ex-Roadsport Challenge car at the weekend. 
Engine appears to have been built by Minister Power and starts and runs unbelievably strongly. I do need to sort the pedals though and ideally bring them back towards me as it's a little bit tight (width) in the footwell (size 10 wide feet) and braking without hitting throttle difficult. With the tilletts I've bags of room so hopefully can sort this.

Congratulations! Very nice looking car!
I have the same issues with my pedals. I'm size 9 but I do have problems with hitting the brake and throttle at the same time, and because of that, I struggle to get the clutch and the brake at the same time (because my foot needs to go over to avoid the throttle!)
I bought some skinnier shoes on the weekend and the fit is a lot better, though I'm considering bending the throttle over to the right side by about 1cm, which should solve all my problems.

I'll look into the Speed Cats and see how that improves things.
For a winning ex-racer (winner of 2006 Caterham Roadsport Challenge Championship) the car looks in remarkably good shape. As you'd expect it's had plenty spent on it keeping it up to scratch but all work has been performed by either Minister or Arch.

Most drivers wear Puma Speedcats or similar, unless they have very small feet/short legs. "Normal" shoes with a welt are a definite "no-no". If you're a cheapskate, Hi-Tec Classic Squash shoes are fine and under £20.
Speed Cats fixed it for me so thanks for recommendation and they are vey comfy too. Normal trainers were so bad I was unable to take the car for a test drive last week. Yes maybe I shouldn't have put a deposit down and commit to buy before test drive and having never driven a Caterham but sometimes you've just got to go with your instinct!!! 
This week took it on a test drive and went for a good blast including crawling traffic through villages and it was fine. No problem with foot work. Weather was perfect too. A slight nip in the air but clear blue skies with bright sun drying the wet roads from previous nights storms.
I absolutely love the car.
Maybe because I'm an ex-biker but I'm amazed how user friendly the car is and how instantly at home I felt in the car. Love the way it just pulls and pulls all the way through the rev range. A corker of an engine!And how are Tilletts so comfortable?!?!!!!! Might have to put Tilletts in my 5 series!

FWIW, that transmission cover isn't a standard Caterham one. It looks to me like someone's butchered a non-handbrake cover to take a handbrake, presumably to get a little extra elbow clearance. Nothing to do with wrist restraints - the 'fix' for that issue is tanktape over the lever.

Can you consider using words other than butchered when describing my new pride and joy. If you have any photos of what a 2004 Academy car tunnel should look like as I'm not aware of this being any different to stock.
