Clamshells-cycle wings

There are 3 ways to deal with these:
1) Use caphead bolts painted (or not) the same as the bodywork
2) Glue a washer behind the hole, skim with a little filler and have the sides sprayed
3) Have new sideskins fitted and the car re-sprayed
Needless to say option 3 is the most costly but the most professional and you can take the opportunity to check for chassis corrosion and make any repair as necessary. Option 2 can be very effective and I have seen several cars where the holes are treated this way and the only way to find out/notice is by looking in the engine bay and seeing the washers glued in. Option 1 looks like bullet holes!

I rather like the cycle wings bobbling up and down as the car glides of small undulations in the road. It is a nice reminder how the car is working underneath you.
But I've never had clamshells. Maybe clamshells are specially designed to vibrate and emit a dainty tune (Spongebob Squarepants?) as they cut through crisp autumn air. Or maybe they whisper winning lottery numbers.

I can understand that & see the benefits in being able to see the front wheel placement really well so you can really put it where you want it but I still think clams make the car much more pretty;)Guys
This may be a dangerous question to ask and I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder etc, but is there an general unbiased or objective view out amongst the crowd that says (based on a like-like spec/conditioned car) that cycle winged cars tend to be worth more or hold their value better than an equivalent clam winged car?
I understand the 'fashion'/aerodynamics/positioning arguements for them but am curious on views on this.
