Quick release steering wheel

Hi, I wonder if anyone could help or direct me to someone with a boss to fit directly on to the drive shaft which holds the steering wheel rather than cutting the shaft short and welding a "slug" on or if anyone has a spare one. I have a Momo steering wheel. Appreciate any help or suggestions

meteor here http://www.meteormotorsport.com/caterham/hardware/... do one that come with the bit of shaft with the welded bit already on it, so it's a simple bolt on job to fit it. I have one, and it is far superior to the original caterham one .. recommended!

If I get a quick release wheel, I will buy one of those. The fact that it's easier to put on isn't as important as the way the design eliminates the problem with play in the splines. I don't know why Caterham don't offer it.

Hi downsman and johnvthe2nd, thank you for your helpful reply but is this item for the steering column? Would it involve changing the steering shaft as by adding this to the shaft would it make the steering wheel come further away from the dashboard?

it does move the steering wheel out by about 1cm .. I was concerned about this at first, but you really don't notice it (well, I didn't)

Which will actually stop you breaking off the main beam toggle switch during frantic use of the wheel! I've always set my column around 1cm further out than standard to give more finger room behind the wheel - easily adjustable at the upper/lower column join whether QR or standard.
