Identify this Caterham please?
Discussion
I may be buying this to repair.
I live in Caterham so have easy access to parts/info.
I am new to Caterhams though so if anyone can provide any info from looking at the pics that would be great.
I'm looking to buy and keep for a fun weekend/track car not to sell on, my family are are the motor trade so labour/resource is no problem either.
Its a 2005 car with a 1.6 or 1.8K series by the looks of it if that makes any difference?

Thanks in advance.

Looks like a super sport upgraded car so should be ~135bhp+ if it's a 1.6. Imperial arch motors chassis. Looks like narrow track front suspension, de-dion rear, 14" minilites with Avon ZV3s (which probably contributed to it's demise!) it's got a heater fitted.
Repair-wise, poss front chassis damage, N/S/F suspension, possibly de-dion tube/ear, radius arm plus bodywork.

Any ideas on approx value once suitably repaired and road worthy?
The starting point will be whether it's on the register - cat d or worse. If so (and it shouldn't be so, but it is) then it gets a serious dent in value. The other is that you'd need to establish the actual spec. Assuming not cat d...at one end a 2005 1600 (or 1800) supersport with 6 speed box, big brakes, widetrack, apollo, LSD...say 15k or perhaps a range 14 to 18.
At the other end, 1600 non-ss, 5 speed, no lsd, no apollo, not widetrack, standard brakes 12-15k
Reduce by at least 20% for cat d.
There's a start to debate around.

I'm sure you know what you are doing, but do you know whether it is just wishbone damage or chassis? There will be about a £2.5K difference in repair cost between the two.....
As James says, rear suspension ear is about £70, De Dion is a few hundred more than that. It will be 'easy' to repair, but cost will vary based on what exactly has happened.

Thanks for all the replies.
We lost the auction (trade) this morning.
Car went for £6600 plus fees in case anyone was wondering.
I think you did well to resist upping your bid! It looks like, at minimum, a short front chassis repair. IMHO, unless you get a kick out of repairing them, it would not really be good value for your money - I'm guessing that it'll be broken for spares. We lost the auction (trade) this morning.

Fair do's; it's got airbags and PAS now.I was just scrolling back this forum and found this thread to the Caterham Ive just bought ,its still damaged but I am in the process of repairing it. By the time I got it the luggage rack was gone. It has masks on the headlights for driving on the other side of the road so I am guessing the accident happened abroad, Any link to previous owner would be good as I would like to know some history.
