Lotus Seven series 2 - anyone got one?

I was looking through the Lotus register and also wiki at the original series 2. Has anyone one on PH got one, if so any chance of posting some photos?

Was there a short wheel base ?

Back in those days there was only one chassis (cockpit) length and that was basically the length that Colin Chapman best fitted into (5ft 8 from memory?).

I think it was in 1988 when Caterham Cars then offered a short cockpit (the old Lotus 7 measurements), which was eventually phased out, and a Long Cockpit option.

Thanks for the links, somehow the series 2 looks classy to me, dash particularly.

There was a guy on PH who restored his dads seven if I recall. Then had a bit of crash? I can remember he posted his restoration pics on here.

His car was really nice and hopefully will be again.

Yes, that was unfortunate, but that particular car is a Caterham, 1978/9 I think.

I used to own a S2 car. It was a 1961 car but fitted with a twin cam, discs, escort axle, and when I bought it the worst dash/wings/alloy you've ever seen.
Rebuilt it over 3 winters, used it through the summers including a holiday through Belgium to Germany & back
985 VPG is it still in existance
