Was there a short wheel base ?
Back in those days there was only one chassis (cockpit) length and that was basically the length that Colin Chapman best fitted into (5ft 8 from memory?).I think it was in 1988 when Caterham Cars then offered a short cockpit (the old Lotus 7 measurements), which was eventually phased out, and a Long Cockpit option.

I used to own a S2 car. It was a 1961 car but fitted with a twin cam, discs, escort axle, and when I bought it the worst dash/wings/alloy you've ever seen.
Rebuilt it over 3 winters, used it through the summers including a holiday through Belgium to Germany & back
985 VPG is it still in existance
