Moving pedalbox

Does anybody know if it is possible to move the pedalbox about 10cm (4 inch)to the front and also widen it about 5cm (2 inch)at the pedals?
If yes, how difficult will this be ?
If No, Are there other ways to get about 10cm more room between seat and pedals?
I am looking at a Lotus S3 (1972) which seems to be shorter than a Caterham S3 from 1987.
The caterham fits, but he lotus is to short for me, I need about 10cm (4 inch) more legroom.
Does a lowered bottom (red somewhere about this) give me more space, possible in combination with another seat?
All ideas are welcome.

I don't think there is room to widen / lengthen but I'm happy to be proved wrong.
Tillets Seats, + lowered floor will help.
Did you check what settings the pedals were at ? The pedal positions are moveable and there is quite a difference between the settings (ref I'm 6'2" with lowered floor and tillets...my friend can't reach the pedals at all, whereas when I get in his Caterham, I'm hunched up with my knees around my chin just to sit in the car (S type seats, no lowered floor and he's about 5'10"))

so i can say that in a standard caterham R400 i could not fit and was crammed in stupidly with seats as far back as they could go - 6ft4in. I then sat in a lowered floor Caterham with standard seats and was fine - that wasnt with seat as far back as it could. I talked to someone (as I was interested in racing and cant use an SV) that is 6ft7in and he managed by a beaded seat to give more space.
Either try and find someone with that mod (as i have learned so many helpful people on here) or take the plunge
Beaded type seat will give you most space (where you use expansion foam and it moulds to your body).

Didn't know they were movable, how can i check because the car is in the showroom of a classic cardealer.Can i check it easy and visibly, or only mechanicly (measuring ?), and where do i have to look/measure ?

I'm 6'6" with a 35" inside leg, and use a tillet on the lowered floor in an imperial S3 race chassis, with the pedals on their "middle" setting.
If you get really stuck with your lotus, you could investigate having a similar section to that which the top hung pedals in the Caterham are hung, grafted into your chassis. That would then give you adjustability.

I may be wronge here, so I stand to be corrected.
But I think a 1972 Lotus will have the "Short cockpit" Which means the bottom of the rear bulkhead is further forward to clear the diff nose, as it's a live axle.
They later changed the angle of the bulkhead, moving the bottom towards the rear, when a different live axle was used, making it more upright and therefore lengthening the cockpit to what it is now.
