Had a day off work today so popped down to the Caterham South showroom.
Only really expecting to have a look see at this

Well a half hour test drive later I've signed on the dotted line to buy it.
Won't pick it up until the start of April due to work, hopefully the weather will have cheered up by then.

Getting ones Seven this way seems to be fairly normal. (Actually not unlike the current Suzuki Swift advert on TV , where a punter goes for a test drive, and then does`nt want to give the car back)
Many many years ago had a Seven on order, then a friend who owned a car showroom called and told me he had a newish seven in his showroom, and said I could have a look, and a drive if I wanted to. so I did, and he needed a crow bar to force me out of it. the thing about Sevens is that they seem to polarize people into those who `get' what they are about, and those who do not, with really not much in between.
I have given people rides in the sevens I have had, and they either will NOT get out and keep asking for a just few more miles in it, and those (including some girl friends) who say dont ever ask me to get in the b***dy thing ever again! So they dont, as I usually `let them go' if you get my drift??

In the course of my working fixing peoples heating I often come up against customers who have something interesting in the garage or perhaps a picture of a nice car on the wall and a conversation will start. (I would much rather talk about cars or bikes than boilers!;))
Of course the fact that I own a caterham has to be slipped into the conversation & you get an interesting range of responses & reactions. The majority smile & are interested to hear about it & did I build it etc etc, some think I am a nutter & some go green & say they have always wanted to own one.

Welcome to the club. Just got my R300 (my first se7en) last November have done about 500 miles os dry days so far looking forwArd to the warm weather to learn to drive it . Doing a Slalom drive at Silverstone in a few weeks time.
Good grief. I got my first 7 in October and I have probably only driven it 6 times (and not many miles). Are you only using at weekends?ED: congrats on the purchase and enjoy. Lets hope we have some decent weather soon
