The Turd rebuild.....

So to paint the car was quite radically stripped with just the rear axle left poking out of the sides. T0ny released the upper control arm and watts linkage fixings in order to paint the sides once the car was in the air.


So Day 1 comprised refitting the front suspension and steering including some lovely new rosejoints :-)

After Day 1:



Day 2 didn't get much done, hope today to:
Re-rivet internal panels
Refit fuel tank & boot floor
Refit Throttle bodies and exhaust
Refit rear wings
Fit new cage and side impact bar
Maybe fit the scuttle, but there are some small electrical changes to be made which may mean that's not possible.


Has to be drivable tomorrow!

Didn't get the wings fitted. Getting the metric cage to fit the Imperial chassis was such an utter utter barsteward, I almost gave up which is unlike me.

Had the engine running though, so looking good for OTR tomorrow.

4 days hard graft to get it back together. About twice as long as I thought.....

Getting my manly girth into the driving seat was not anything as hard as fitting the cage, and unlike fitting the cage, no ratchet straps and additional muscle power were required.
