Had a good play with my new toy over the weekend and still have a huge smile on my face smile

my question is what temperatures should i be expecting to see for spirited road driving for both oil and water?

Car is a 2002 R500

Unfortunately (well fortunately from a survivability standpoint biggrin) I don't own an R500, but on my 140bhp k-series the water is at 90 degrees rock solid and oil around 80 degrees for anything but hard track driving.

Think it may depend on the thermosat in the fan. My R500 fan kicks in at 80 and tends to keep it around that, when pushing on dash read 75 ish, up to 85 when standing.

The gauges do vary a bit...so +/- a few degrees don't be too worried.

Has your car got an oil cooler fitted? (under the front rad) this may have a bearing on the oil temps you see

Thanks guys, water was around 75 and I never noticed the oil get higher than low 60s.

Don't believe there is an oil cooler fitted (embarrassingly not sure) will check later. Just thought that 60 was a little low?

Yes 60 is a little low for oil temp, but my R500 was like that esp in the winter. No oil cooler fitted.
