Never having driven a 7 and the one I have being in pieces.... I have noticed the bulkhead /footwell corners are sealed with duct tape over the joins, its a bit of a bodge and I imagine its been done to stop heat or drafts blowing through the gaps in seams - is this a problem what does everybody else do - is there some sealant I could apply?

Isn't silicone sealant just duct tape without the tape bit?

It got clear silicon sealant around mine...not pretty, but it beats getting your feet wet when driving in the rain tongue out

Nope. Silicon sealant, but had that been unavailable I'm sure duct tape would've worked.

You might also want to stick some heat shielding around the footwell box in the engine bay. Try to get it up into the tunnel too. Passenger's feet benefit from the proximity of the exhaust on the Xflow. Nice in winter but melting in hot weather.
