Fuel pump choice 1700 xflow
Discussion
Hi, looking forward to a bit of sun at last and getting my 1990 Supersprint ready, I have noticed my fuel pump is getting very noisey, this pumo was bough as a replacement for a failed pump, two pumps in 500 miles???? something is telling me I might be using the wrong pump.
What would be the recommended pump for a 1700 x flow with twin 40's ( i think they are 40's)
Many thanks

Another thumbs up for Facet, use a Facet Red Top, available either as a bare pump or as a full install kit depending what you already have. Normally sits on the back of the rear bulkhead.
Might also be worth checking the state of your hoses as if original they could be in a poor state and blocking the pump.
The facet does have a mesh strainer fitted to catch any loose bit's but may need cleaning out depending on state of fuel hoses and tank,

My caterham runs two facets, one to the surge and one to the carbs, stands over the winter, and have never had a problem, my Sylva runs a facet to feed the surge tank and a Nissan pump to feed the fuel injection, each spring after standing it needs a new Nissan pump, facet red top with a pressure regulator, not cheap but last for ever.n
