I have what was a sigma 125 that then had the full factory supersport kit fitted. I'm now after a bit more oomph but love the car and don't really want the expense of buying something else. I was wondering what if any benefit i'd get from a CAT bypass.

I haven't enquired of these guys yet (http://www.premierpowerengines.co.uk/products/1.6SigmaEngine) but imagine the cost will be eye watering. We'll see. Any advice on the more modest end of power tweaks appreciated, especally the cat bypass. Thanks Scott.

The Cat by-pass will make little difference to power. The core they use is a racing spec and is relatively open and free flowing. The by-pass pipe is often used to protect against the possibility of the CAT overheating on track, but I'm not sure how valid that argument is unless you are using a different map.

Hi Scott! Yes there is one: take the windscreen off and fit an aeroscreen. The whole feel of the car seems to change and you *will* get sharper acceleration, and even more so the higher speed you go. If you have some good glasses and a warm beanie the wind really isn't a problem. What you get in return is a different car and more of a feeling of connection.

Good to see you on here again!

Tim.

Hi Scott,

The one thing I have heard from a sigma125 friend is to lag your exhaust primaries, he was told by a sigma engine tuning company (can't remember which) that this alone can be worth nearly 5bhp as it lowers the engine bay temperatures. I'll have to ask if it has made any difference (yet to try it on my 150).

Might help to keep your feet cooler too! smile

I could do with trying that, my 140 cooks my feet nicely on a hot day!

Thanks chaps. All sensible. The 140 supersport does get a bit toastie!. I suppose I was kidding myself thinking there was 10 or 20bhp out there for sod all. Road car remapping is a doddle compared to this, especially turbo. I'll soldier on and see what happens but £5k+ conversion to get much more bhp isn't for me I'm afraid. Would rather just go to an R400 when the time's right. In the emantime I have a nice carbon dash to fit and it's time for a suede momo again smile More sizzle than bang but all good smile

Similar plan here. Learn the car and as many tracks as I can get to over the next couple of years and then move to an R400 (or similar) when the time is right.

Good shout Andy. Track day insurance at £100 a day is painful but what I'm being quoted. Want to do Blyton in aug.

A LSD and a hydraulic handbrake is way more fun then an extra 40Bhp
