Rear brake noise

Hi all,
This may be paranoia on my part, but could I ask for some advice on rear brakes please. My car is a 2009 S3.
I've noticed a rubbing noise from the rear brakes as if they are lightly rubbing the disk. My car is 4 years old but hasn't done many miles so I was hoping this might disappear with use. So last night I removed the sliding part of the caliper, checked that the pads were in good condition and gave them a general clean. The hubs can be turned fairly easily and when driving there is no pull to one side or the other. I think I read that some light contact with the disk was normal due to the design of the brakes?
Whilst the car was on stands I noticed that when I rotate one rear wheel the other wheel does not rotate at all. Does this indicate a problem with the brakes?

The sliding caliper rear brake is not a fabulous design in my view as I like my pistons in pairs!
I think most of what you say sounds like normal behaviour apart from the one wheel not turning when you turn the other. You'd expect it to turn the other way with a normal diff or the same way with an LSD. I don't know what that means though!
If the car is still up in the air, does it do the same with the pads out? With the pads in, is one wheel noticeably harder to turn than the other?

That's a good point re how it behaves with pads out. The disk rotated a little easier but I didn't note what the other wheel was doing at that point. I was thinking it was resistance from the brakes stopping the opposing wheel from rotating freely. I'll take another look tonight
Those brakes need some flexible hoses too. Not great having to flex the copper brake pipe to get the pads out!
