Whats a 1800k with Supersport cams and Verniers worth??
Discussion
I'm thinking of selling my engine rather than using it as the basis of an upgrade, as my plans mean replacing most of it.
EU2 - Low miles (20k) mostly in a 21 with a lady owner, never had HGF, no ancilleries, no flywheel.
I put it in my car in late 2012, and have done about 3k miles in it, and probably the only two track days in its life.
Its been dry sumped and had frequent oil changes.
Can be see/driven in car.

I think I'd keep it if that were the case.
Its got verniers and Piper 270 cams, and shows less than 3% cyl leakage. I think that surely places it in an entirely different ball park to a £400 ebay ex Fre
elander lump with 70k miles?

You can't compair it to the junk on ebay but as i found unfortunatly people often you it as a yard stick

It's only going to appeal to someone who's going to rebuild it anyway IMO. And I suspect most will treat provenance of a lump like this with a pinch of salt as a result.
Which is why I suggested keeping it

If you're lucky you might find someone whose 1.8K Caterham engine has gone pop...but it's rare that would be worth a new engine IMO.
You might squeeze up to a couple of hundred quid on top for the cams and pulleys, but I'm not massively convinced.
Are you aiming to stay k-series? I thought you'd seen the James May light on 7s
