Caterham Sat-Nav
Discussion
Hi there,
I've got a Tom Tom one that's a few years old.
It doesn't seem to be holding charge very well, but even if I plug it in to the 12v cigarette lighetr socket in my Caterham it doesn't seem to be able to draw enough power to even stay alive.
The Tom Tom work's fine when plugged into the 12v socket in my Audi so I suspect it could be the Caterham. It is running a gel battery, but the socket says it's outputting just over 12 volts on a voltmeter and the light comes on on the tom tom charging cable when it's plugged in.
Before I go and buy a new sat nav and experience the same problem, has anyone else experienced a similar problem with their Caterham 12v socket?
Thanks in advance,
Tom

i've had similar problems with Tom Tom - the batteries ain't great.
I bought a replacement battery off flee bay and fitted it myself (not too tricky) and now it works fine and holds charge again.... just make sure you get the right battery for your model if you decide to have a go ...
