After buying back my 67 plate S550 convertible 3 years after I sold it! ( I missed it too much) it now has a fault with the passenger side windows. They occasionally go into spasms and goes up and down 10 mm or so and then stops. This usually happens after I’ve washed it. Has anyone else had this problem and resolved it? Any help appreciated. This is common, there's a plug/socket for the window motor that is mounted upside down allowing moisture to accumulate inside the socket. It often happens after hosing or power washing. There are several youtube videos showing how to fix this and eliminate further occurrences. If you take it to ford for a diagnostic, they will wrongly diagnose a faulty window motor, it's not the motor, it's the motor plug and socket

Thanks for your answer. Is the connector inside the door panel?

Yes, you need to remove the door card, youtube shows that too as some of the fixings are hidden

I have replaced both motors on my 65 plate GT & as one of the 3 motor mounting bolts is hidden behind the panel I drilled my own access hole to get to the bolt (screw). It helped that I had the new motor to see where the hole needed to be.
