Yeah I’m playing, enjoying it and I have only scratched the surface. I’m going to do what I did with Elden Ring and finish it once then go back with an official map and sweep every thing ends up I missed.

I have just worked out how to Dye.... For some reason I bought dye but could not use it and somehow lost it. I also seem to have lost a disguise that I used not sure how but it's not in the inventory and I didn't sell it as I thought I might need it later.

Is this one of those games that requires a lot of time invested before it can be enjoyed?

I think so yes really. It also does not tell you a lot and I can't work out half of it !! For example, I have been giving a bloke in my camp loads of stuff and it says sell it to make lots of cash. But apparently I need a cart. No idea how to get a cart !!

Crimson Desert doesn't go big on hand holding. In fact, it seems to revel in its own opacity at times hehe Still enjoying it though. Love the big open world where you can see some distant tower and just say sod it and take a long diversion to see it (dodging higher level mobs in the process).

The bizarre control scheme is slightly less baffling now with the latest patches.

Definitely worth a go if you're a fan of huge explorable open world games. Just go with its weird, jumbled kitchen-sink mechanics.

Well, after many hours trying to get a cart to trade, I finally got one. Loaded it up only to be told I don't have enough stuff. Then managed to steer it over a bonfire and up it went..... FFS.... THEN got another cart, travelled 2000m on it, 50m from the destination I crashed into fences and boom, up it went....

Requires around 20 hours of initial slog for things to really open up, according to reviews.

So I've took the plunge and bought this today after reading a few reviews since it's been out just over a month now, I'll be honest I don't always have the time lately to spend a few hours grinding away on a game that looks and sounds like it needs that exact thing spending on it, but what people have said and how it's blown people away with the size of the open world and the attention to detail i thought I'd give it a go.

Only spent a couple of hours on it so far but so far so good smile

The map size is about 6 miles by 5 miles or so I think... It's amazing. I can now ride an IBIS and I have a hot air balloon. There is also a jet pack but I've never used that.

I think that one is upstairs and when you walk to the door he doesn't hit it but just stands there....

I know have 3 hot air balloons and am trying to catch a Dragon........ Oh and a little armoured tank thing....

ETA, oh multiple pets now including various cats in their little "mouseketeer outfits", dogs in armour and several birds including an Owl and a Cuckoo that goes Cuckoo when he collects gear for you !
